Our client, a leader in the legal technology industry in Australia, is seeking to appoint an experienced paralegal with strong technical skills and a keen interest in developing their legal technology career. Your duties will be challenging and varied and will include:
assisting with and maintaing databases in Ringtail and MS Access;
bridging the legal and technology gap to assist in providing solutions to the firm and its clients;
HTML & XML coding;
work with the team to manage lawyer expectations ensuring the projects are completed on time;
exchanging documents, uploading data and providing technical court support when required;
be hands-on and undertake the technical administration of databases including security, monitoring and restoration;
document management work including bar coding, converting images, objective coding, and other document processing tasks as required.
You will need to have a strong technical ability and good knowledge of MS Access and Ringtail Casebook (not essential but advantageous), along with the ability to problem solve and "think outside the square". To be successful in this role, you must have the ability to analyse, diagnose, trouble shoot and resolve technical problems within the team.
It is essential that you have at least 1-2 years' experience working in a similar environment - ideally in a legal or IT firm - assisting with document management projects. You will be required to deliver solutions to the legal teams so excellent project coordination and communication skills (both verbal and written) are a must. A tertiary qualification in an Information Management, Computer Science or a related discipline is required to be successful in this role.
