Working for a Partner (HOD) and an Assistant in the Insolvency Department. Their work involves the legal aspects of Insolvency/Litigation/Fraud and Travel issues.
Duties include:
• Word processing; mainly audio but some copy typing, creating/amending new documents (including redlining/overstrike), letters and forms; witness statements, instructions to counsel; pleadings;
• For HOD open all post and collate with files where relevant;
• In the fee earners’ absence, open post, pick up voicemail messages and for HOD ensure all messages are emailed to them for review from his blackberry’s; ensure issues arising from messages and post are noted or actioned as appropriate;
• Preparation of bills
• Arranging appointments with clients, internal and other external personnel. Utilising diary and liaising with Boardroom Bookings as required
• Assisting HOD with management of his diary and file system ensuring all appointments/bring forward items are actioned accordingly
• Maintaining filing system
• Photocopying/faxing/emails for Insolvency Department and assisting other departments as appropriate.
• Opening new and closing/archiving old files
• Liaising with all levels within the Firm, as necessary
• Any ad hoc duties
