Blue Chip UAE company seeking 15+PQE General Counsel / $$++ Really Exceptional

To help ensure its success, it is now seeking an outstanding, commercially astute General Counsel.

Reporting to the CEO, you will provide timely, authoritative, accurate legal advice on all aspects of the company’s international operations thereby supporting its overseas expansion. Your responsibilities will be wide ranging and include managing and advising on high value deals as well as building a strong multi-disciplined legal function capable of handling the full gamut of in-house legal matters from joint ventures and acquisitions to general company/commercial matters including employment and IP/IT issues . You will be responsible for identifying and mitigating legal risk across multiple jurisdictions and must be able to speak, think and advise the company commercially, not just as a lawyer. You will build and maintain strong relationships with the company’s executives, joint venture partners and banks and, given the complexity, size and cross-border nature of the deals, you will also work closely with and manage external counsel across multiple jurisdictions

This role demands a high calibre General Counsel with a strong international corporate/M&A background gained at a top tier law firm or corporate. You must have strong management skills, honed analytical capabilities and appreciate regional, religious and cultural norms and sensibilities. Your ability to negotiate, manage and transact high value, strategic deals including joint ventures and acquisitions across multiple jurisdictions and time zones is critical. Finally, you will diplomatic and charismatic and be able to work an extremely fast paced environment.
