Antitrust Competition and Trade Associate – 2-5 years PQE - London - Job Description

Our Antitrust Competition and Trade lawyers are among the best in the world. They are widely recognised as operating at the forefront of this practice area advising our clients on all types of competition cases around the world, many of which are cross-border or global.

We advise on the complete range of competition, antitrust, regulatory, and trade issues and have a substantial litigation practice, regularly appearing in the European and national courts on EU law, antitrust/competition and trade cases.

This is a chance for a high-calibre Associate to join an award-winning and energetic team of true professionals who consistently strive to develop new and imaginative commercial solutions to the issues faced by Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer clients.

Your main responsibilities as an ACT Associate will involve:

- Advising clients on a range of competition law and commercial issues
- Drafting/negotiating transaction or other contract documents
- Drafting submissions to competition authorities and courts
- Managing transactions and litigation
- Managing client relationships
- Actively participating in business development and client events
- Training/managing trainees/junior lawyers

You can expect to receive a wide variety of high quality work from a range of partners, with whom you will work closely.

What we are looking for in you:

We are seeking Lawyers with first rate technical and commercial abilities and relevant experience in antitrust/competition and trade.

Driven to do high quality work, you will be able to contribute to the wider success of the team – either through proactive involvement in business development and knowledge management, or by supervising more junior lawyers/trainees. You will have excellent communication skills, will be able to take on a high degree of responsibility, and manage a challenging workload. You must also be proactive and committed to providing an excellent service to our clients.
