How to Become a Recorder - London
Region: London
In January 2009 the Judicial Appointments Commission expects to advertise for Recorder positions across the South Eastern circuit. You are likely to be eligible to apply for one of these part-time posts if you have been qualified as a solicitor for at least 7 years.

If you are interested in applying for one of these important posts, which could open up a new dimension to your career why not sign up to one of these Law Society-hosted seminars to find out more.

The independent Judicial Appointments Commission selects candidates for judicial office through open and fair competition and from the widest range of potential candidates.

In anticipation of these positions being advertised experienced JAC staff will speak about the selection process, to give you the best opportunity of success. The seminar offers you the chance to put questions about completing the application form and identifying referees. It will also be an opportunity to hear more about the qualifying test used to shortlist and the selection day that will follow for successful applicants.

A sitting Recorder will be invited to give you an insight into their role, with the opportunity for Q&As afterwards. Whether you have already decided to apply to be a Recorder, or are just considering your future, this short presentation will provide you with valuable advice on the benefits a judicial appointment might open for you.
